Hint - To protect the finish of
your notebook, a small piece of
masking tape may be placed between
the screwdriver and chassis.
STEP
7 Twist
the screwdriver 90 degrees.
CAUTION: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PRY
OPEN THE COMPARTMENT DOOR WITH
EXCESSIVE FORCE.
STEP
8 With
the screwdriver in place, grab
the edge of the compartment door
with your fingertips.
STEP
9 While
holding the compartment door slightly
open with one hand, remove the
screwdriver. Use both hands to
slowly pull the inside edge away
from the chassis.
STEP
10 Once
the door is tilted to a 45 degree
angle, stop. Do not pull
the compartment door completely
backwards.
Hint: Use caution while removing
the compartment door to prevent
breakage of the supporting tabs.
STEP
11 Remove
the door by lifting it outwards
at a 45 degree angle.
CAUTION:
DO NOT TOUCH THE INTERNAL COMPONENTS
OF YOUR COMPUTER WITHOUT PROPER
GROUNDING. ELECTROSTATIC
DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE PERMANENT
DAMAGE. Learn more about
Static
Electricity and Grounding.
STEP
12 With
the compartment door removed,
the memory module sockets (1 open)
will be visible.
STEP

the metal retaining clips on both
sides of the memory. Push outward
using your fingers (do not use
tools).
STEP
14 The
factory installed memory module

module edge allows insertion in
only a single orientation. Be
sure to align the cutout with
the open socket.
STEP
17 Insert
the memory module into the open
slot.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE EXCESSIVE
FORCE. If the module does not
insert easily, remove, check for
blockage and proper orientation
before attempting again.
STEP
18 Using
slight pressure, push down on
the memory module until it snaps
into place.
STEP
19 Using
the tips of your finger, push
down the left corner of the memory
module to ensure a proper fit.
STEP
20 Push down the
right corner of the memory module.
STEP
21 The factory installed
memory module should now be located
in the bottom memory slot.
STEP

your newly purchased memory at
a 45 degree angle toward the top
(open) memory slot.

A small cutout on the memory module
edge allows insertion in only
a single orientation. Be sure
to align the cutout with the open
socket.
STEP
23 Insert
the new memory module into the
open slot.
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE EXCESSIVE FORCE. If
the module does not insert easily,
remove, check for blockage and
proper orientation before attempting
again.
STEP
24 Again,
using
slight pressure, push down on
the new memory module until it
snaps into place.
STEP

Your Everex computer is
designed to automatically detect
and optimize the additional

of "beeping" sounds
after being turned on, the memory
module(s) may not be situated
properly. Reopen the compartment
door and ensure the modules
are installed correctly.
