Adding/Installing Skype to the CloudBook CE1200V
Skype is a popular application used to make free Skype-to-Skype calls over the Internet.  To install and setup the software on your Everex CloudBook, follow the enclosed instructions.

Tools Needed: None
Time Required: 15 minutes



STEP 1
Turn on your Everex CloudBook and make sure it is connected to the Internet. Using the built-in touch pad or external mouse (not supplied), select "System" in the top menu bar followed by "Administration" and "Software Sources".
 



STEP 2
Enter your Password in the pop-up window and click "OK" to continue.
 



STEP 3
In the "Software Sources" window, select the"Ubuntu Software" tab.
 



STEP 4
Check the "Canonical-supported Open Source software" and Proprietary drivers for devices" boxes.
 



STEP 5
In the "Download from:" option, select "Main server"
 



STEP 6
Be sure that the option "Officially supported Restricted copyright" is NOT checked, then click the "Close" button.

 



STEP 7
After the information window appears, click the "Reload" button.

 



STEP 8
Your CloudBook will automatically download all necessary software and display the progress in the "Downloading package information" window.
 



STEP 9
Once the returns to the desktop, click "System" in the top menu, followed by "Administration" and "Synaptic Package Manager".
 



STEP 10
Again, enter your Password in the pop-up window and click "OK" to continue.
 



STEP 11
Click the "Close" button on the "Quick Introduction" window.
 




STEP 12
Click the "Search" button in the "Synaptic Package Manager" window.
 



STEP 13
Type "skype" in the Seach box and then click the "Search" button.
 



STEP 14
Click on the "Skype-common" check box.


 



STEP 15
Click on the "Mark for installation" box when it appears.
 



STEP 16
Now click on the "Skype" check box.


 



STEP 17
Again, click on the "Mark for installation" box when it appears.

 



STEP 18
Click on the "Mark" button in the "Mark additional required changes?" window.

 



STEP 19
Click "Apply" in the "Synaptic Package Manager" window.
 



STEP 20
Click on the "Apply" button in the "Summary" window.
 



STEP 21
Your system will begin to download software, then continue with the installation.

 



STEP 22
Click the "Close" button on the "Changes applied" window.
 



STEP 23
Close the "Synaptic Package Manager" window.
 



STEP 24
Select "System" in the top menu bar followed by "Administration" and "Software Sources".
 



STEP 25
Enter your Password in the pop-up window and click "OK" to continue.
 



STEP 26
In the "Software Sources" window, select the"Ubuntu Software" tab.
 



STEP 27
UNCHECK both the "Canonical-supported Open Source software" and "Proprietary drivers for devices" boxes, then click the "Close" button.
 



STEP 28
Click on the "Reload" button and the system will begin repackaging.
 



STEP 29
Click on "Applications" in the top menu bar, followed by "Internet" and "Skype" to begin using the Skype software.
